Azamara Club Cruises: A Different Kind of Luxury
Azamara Club Cruises are Royal Caribbean’s answer to small luxury cruising. Guests who have sailed Royal in the past and wish to upgrade their cruise experience are happy to find out that the company offers step ups in every way. Fans of the Royal Caribbean brand will love Azamara, which serves as a happy medium between the larger cruise lines that appeal to a mass market and the smaller, ultra-luxury ships. The two 600-passenger ships are soon to undergo a facelift, further securing their position as Cruise Critics’ Best Overall in the small ship category.
As with some of the other high end cruise lines, Azamara keeps up with the competition by offering itineraries that hit smaller ports. Not only that, but they treat guests to an in-depth experience in ports, which they call Destination Immersion. This key feature of the brand allows for longer stays and more overnights in 50% of the ports visited on an Azamara Club Cruise.
Gratuities, dining, red & white wine to accompany lunch and dinner, bottled water and soft drinks, butler service in suites, and transportation to the city centers in ports when available is all included in Azamara’s up-front price. For those seeking other dining venues, the ship offers two onboard at a $25 cover, not bad compared to the prices of specialty restaurants on mass market cruises.
Overall, Azamara offers a great value to clients interested in taking the plunge into the luxury and small ship experience. The line is always offering fantastic prices, up to 50% off brochure rates and it has great promotions on select sailings for solo travelers, as well.
As with the other fantastic cruiselines we’ve featured this week, Azamara is a partner line, which means I’m able to get my clients special perks onboard most sailings. That can mean anything from credits to Voyager Club hosted events, where a representative from the Virtuoso network is onboard to host complimentary cocktail parties, lead shore excursions, and serve as a liaison for guests booked through a Virtuoso agency (such as Vacations by Lindsey!).
