The last family cruise we took had moments like this:
and, my all time favorite moment ever in existence from an ice-cold river in Cancun:
I’m hoping, after nearly three years later, that tomorrow when we set sail on one of the largest ships at sea (Royal Caribbean’s Oasis of the Seas), we’ll have an equally great time. Knowing my family, I don’t doubt that it will be even better than our last vacation together.
My grandparents were generous enough to take us all on this cruise – we booked it in January, and it’s amazing the changes that have happened since then. Everything in the universe seemed to conspire against us and for a while, it looked like we wouldn’t have this opportunity to travel as a family (read about the scariest of those moments here). Still, we managed to beat the odds. We’ll be leaving for Ft. Lauderdale bright and early tomorrow, ready for a week at sea. We’ll zipline in Haiti, climb Dunn’s River Falls in Jamaica, and hopefully recreate that lovely snorkeling experience in the photo above from Cancun.
I’m so grateful to have this opportunity – not everyone is able to travel with the people they love the most, so I thank God every chance I get to do so. And no matter how often we want to throw each other overboard this upcoming week, we know that we really are blessed to have one another.
