When I first accepted this job a few years ago, I never would’ve dreamed where the industry would take me by this point in my life. I’ve been blessed beyond belief with the support of my clients, others in the industry, and my family and friends to continue to grow my business. I’m happy to announce a few incredible advances that have taken place and will be taking place in order to better expand my business and serve my client base:
1) The Vacations by Lindsey Travel Office
After years of working from home, I’m fortunate to now have a little space of my own in Columbus. I’ve had this office up and running for about half a year now, so it’s very delayed that I post about it. However, I’m so proud to finally have a place to hang my world map (and cherished UGA diploma – GO DAWGS!) and store my brochures and meet my local clients that I had to share this with you.
Since I had no idea where to start decorating my new corner of the world, I desperately sought help from Kelly, my friend with the superpower of turning not-so-pretty spaces into unrecognizably beautiful masterpieces (don’t believe me? Check out her blog, View Along the Way, or maybe just pick up this month’s edition of Better Homes & Gardens that she’s featured in).
You might notice something unique about the above window decal…like, the fact that it’s reflecting a Goodyear sign. Yes, my travel office is the only one in the world (that I know of) located inside of a tire store. My incredible father owns Epperly Tire Co., wich is the nicest chain of tire stores you will ever step foot into (What other tire store offers free wifi and serves popcorn and Keurig Coffee in their upscale lobby?). As nice of a tire shop as it is, my office is still located within the comfort of an auto center, complete with air guns and regular amounts of grease. Do you see why I needed Kelly’s help now, beyond my own lack of creativity?
I needed to design a space that would feel like stepping out of one world and into another – from tires to travel…with Kelly’s advice and plenty of hours on Pinterest, here is the finished product:
2) Now Expanding to Atlanta
Thanks to the success I’ve seen locally and nationally, I’m excited to say that I’ll be expanding the Vacations by Lindsey brand into Atlanta, where I’ve already formed a fantastic client base. This might seem like a crazy idea after just talking about my beautiful little Columbus-based office, but I believe there’s room for growth and that my presence in Atlanta will benefit what my business can offer you in the long run.
I will split my time between the two cities and continue to meet in person by appointment only, as I have always done. For those clients who are not based in these cities or who prefer to work over phone and email, as most of you typically do, this will have no impact on how we communicate or my planning services overall. You’ll still experience the same efficient service, personalized itineraries, and attention to detail with each and every trip you plan through me, as you always have.
The benefit for all of my clients? I will be located in a larger market, meeting with suppliers on a more regular basis, and forming better relationships and connections within the travel industry so that I can better serve you, my favorite client (that’s right, you). My goal is to continue to be on top of my own travel education that I constantly seek while I’m at home, which is why I feature various hotels and destinations, and while I’m abroad, which is why I share crazy stories of my own trips.
Thank you to everyone who has supported me along the way – let the journey continue!
