A little over a year ago, Mikenzie and Geoff were referred to us to plan their dream honeymoon to Tahiti – but first, they had a quick getaway to Jamaica. We got to know them and their preferences on the shorter trip, eventually implementing those in planning for the more elaborate itinerary. It’s so nice when couples come to us who are willing to share their stories and let us get to know them – one of the foundations of Epperly Travel is that of relationships, so it means the world to us when we’re able to build not just a business relationship, but a friendship, with our clients – which is exactly how we feel about Geoff & Mikenzie!
This sweet couple just returned from their 12-night honeymoon to French Polynesia. They’ve been kind enough to share their honeymoon story (and some great travel tips!) with us from their stay at the Hilton Moorea Lagoon Resort & Spa, Le Taha’a, and the St. Regis Bora Bora. It doesn’t take much to see why this is not only one of my personal favorite places to visit (how could it not be!) but also to plan for couples and families alike!
Geoff and I had an AMAZING time on our honeymoon and we can’t thank you enough for all the work that you and Kelsey did to make the trip as perfect as possible.
Geoff and I both agree that French Polynesia is a place that everyone should get to visit at least once in their lifetime. The food, people, accommodations and transportation were all first class, and we definitely loved that we were able to visit three very unique and different islands.
Air Tahiti – We loved the airline! They were so nice! Geoff surprised me and upgraded us to business class going both ways, and I can honestly say that it made the trip so much better. It was significantly less expensive to upgrade at the airport too.
Length of Visit – The timing was honestly perfect! Geoff and I had so much fun and loved every minute of the trip, but we were definitely ready to come home on the last day of the trip, so seriously, great job Lindsey!
Moorea – We loved the Hilton and the Garden Villa! It was a great room, and the Hilton was a great hotel. It rained for the the first two days we were there, so we didn’t get to do as much as we would have liked, but we had a great time doing the sting ray feeding and snorkeling! It was so fun to see the island from the water, especially once some of the rain lifted. I think it would have been nice if we could have done some kind of island tour, just to see a little more of the island. Geoff and I agree that the food was so-so, but we did go into town for one dinner, and that was a lot of fun!
Taha’a – Everything about the Taha’a experience was wonderful! The resort was definitely not your typical five star hotel, and we really appreciated the ability to see things in a little more of a Polynesian style. We actually really enjoyed the spa experience at the hotel. We now completely understand what you meant by it not being your typical Western spa, but honestly, it was an amazing experience and something we really enjoyed!
Bora Bora – The St. Regis was absolutely incredible. The service was impeccable, the overwater bungalow was amazing (I’m so glad you made us wait!) and gigantic, and the food was right on point. Geoff and I honestly had the best time at Bora Bora. They had a picture of puck and cards and chocolate chip cookies and champagne waiting for us upon our arrival, and it made us feel so welcomed and taken care of. We loved doing the island jet ski tour! The spa was great! Yoga was actually a really nice addition, and I wish they offered it every morning, because it was such a nice break. Lagoon is fabulous, and Geoff and I already miss some of the menu items so much. I honestly don’t have a single critique for the hotel or the staff. They really did everything possible to make us feel like royalty and the hotel staff definitely does a great job at doing relaxed luxury. I think five nights there was the perfect amount of time too. By the end of our stay, we felt like we had exhausted everything that we wanted to do, and that’s exactly how you want to leave a vacation 🙂 Fulfilled, relaxed and ready to go home!
Overall, we just want to say THANK YOU. Lindsey, you are awesome at what you do, and Geoff and I can’t wait for all of the future trips that we will plan with you. You make traveling easy and fun and relaxing, and we honestly will never book another vacation without you. All of the time, effort, and the little touches that you added to make this a truly unforgettable experience were so very much appreciated by us, and you can be assured that we will continue to tell everyone that we meet that they should use you for their future travel plans 🙂
