Imagine yourself on a private island oasis – just you and your loved one in a beach bungalow, no alarm clocks or televisions to distract you.
At first, when I visited the paradisal Le Taha’a Island Resort and Spa on my own trip to French Polynesia, the idea of no technology drove me a little stir crazy. When I showed up late to our tour of the property I looked at everyone like they were crazy for giving me a hard time. “How do you expect me to ever be on time without a clock in my room?!”
But, after an hour or so of adjusting to the peace and quiet, I fell in love with this pristine getaway.
Now that you’ve imagined yourself on this oasis – imagine sleeping in, waking just in time for your complimentary breakfast (only if you book through me) in Le Vanille, an incredible restaurant nestled into the treetops. Afterwards, enjoy a day at leisure of relaxing on the beach that’s just steps in front of your bungalow. Once you’re done on the beach, take a dip in your private pool, rinse off in your private outdoor shower, or maybe even just relax in your private outdoor tub (somewhere in between all of that, I’m sure you’ll find some time for lunch at the resort’s al fresco restaurant, La Plage – it’s right on the beach, just like you will be).
If you’re more of an overwater bungalow person, Taha’a offers these, too – but I recommend their beach bungalows for a truly unique experience; save your overwater for pairing with the St. Regis Bora Bora, or maybe even the Four Seasons Bora Bora. Be sure to wrap up your relaxation in time for dinner at The Ohiri, Taha’a’s famous gourmet restaurant.
Why so much emphasis on the dining? Well, the resort is a Relais and Chateaux, meaning it was hand selected for its food and wine offerings. Not only will you be in true paradise while in French Polynesia, you’ll be in a foodie-lover’s haven at Le Taha’a Island Resort.
Read about my adventure at the resort here – it’s the trip that inspired me to become a certified Tahiti Tiare Agent. As a Tahiti Tiare agent, I can put together the best possible trip to the islands of French Polynesia, customizing your itinerary to fit your every need.
