I remember my very first Virtuoso Week, three years ago, when I learned about the Maldives for the first time. A rep from the One&Only Reethi Rah came by my table and displayed photos of one of the most breathtaking places I’d ever seen. The words “Reethi Rah” were stuck in my head for days. I wanted to repeat them like a mantra and click my heels together three times, in hopes that I’d be transported from the frigid air conditioning of the Bellagio into one of the marvelous overwaters in the Maldives.
Maybe one day.
Until then, all you need to know is that the One&Only Reethi Rah is worth dreaming about.
It embodies a lavish elegance. Just take the moment of check-in, for example, which takes place en route to the resort on a 55-foot private yacht. Upon arrival, guests will instantly notice the refined atmosphere with a simple Asian elegance, all tastefully decorated with iconic orchids, bred by famed florist Stephen Woodham.
The property understands guests’ needs for service and privacy. It’s known in the Maldives for having some of the best service and most secluded villas around. The 130 sleek villas are strategically placed on their own private stretches of sand or sea, they range in size from 1,453 sq ft. to the 2,594 Grand Water Villa.
The One&Only Reethi Rah is dedicated to providing guests with opportunities to relax their bodies and minds. I can speak from personal experience at the One&Only Cape Town that the brand’s spas are out of this world. Just like the One&Only Cape Town, which sits on its own private island, Reethi Rah’s spa is nestled in its own secluded part of the resort and is complete with crystal steam rooms, stone saunas, lifestyle showers, hot pools with shoulder massages, air beds and ice fountains. To add to the experience, the spa also features an overwater Chi Pavilion for yoga, Pilates, and Tai Chi.
As with the other Maldivian resorts that I’m featuring this week, Reethi Rah offers something unique in terms of dining and culinary experience. From Tapasake, the overwater restaurant that serves the freshest seafood and sushi, to Fanditha, where guests can dine with their feet in the sand, no shoes are allowed.
For families interested in traveling to the Maldives, this property offers a KidsOnly program that caters to children and teens.
Because of our affiliation with Virtuoso, Vacations by Lindsey is able to offer guests exclusive amenities at this property, like an upgrade on arrival if available and daily breakfast. Guests staying 7+ nights also receive a Secrets of the Thila excursion or one complimentary dinner for two in Reethi Restaurant. With the help of our great partners at Linara Travel, we offer guests the best pricing and amenities for not only the One&Only Reethi Rah, but for all properties in the Maldives!
