Being in both the travel and wedding industries, I am so fortunate to come across some amazing companies that make your lives easier, happier, and prettier. Today’s Favorite Things blog post (which, in case you were wondering, has become ALMOST as popular as Oprah’s annual Favorite Things episode) features one from each category – a new travel review site to make your life easier, an organization determined to change the world one beautiful bag at a time to make your life happier, and some gorgeous stationery for all occasions to make your life prettier.
Interestingly enough, I’ve seen quite a few new business models lately that are challenging the dynamic of the traditional travel review site. After it’s launch last month, Triptease takes the cake on unique travel review sites. They really focus on the core of what travelers are looking for: strong visuals, simple feedback, and easy to understand ratings. Since it’s launch, the company was fortunate enough to receive the honor of the much coveted Apple Editor’s Choice vote on the iPad store in the UK & most of Europe and just last week it hit its one millionth hit on the website.
Needless to say, it’s something you need to check out for yourself – so sign up on Triptease.com today (be sure to follow me!) and let me know how you like it! I’ll be posting more on this great company in the upcoming weeks, so be on the lookout!
Do you love the bag pictured above? What if I told you that by purchasing that bag (or one of their other beautiful creations), you’re helping to generate funding to girls’ sports organizations worldwide. The company behind this great idea, Activyst, is founded on the beliefe that “stronger girls make a stronger world” and have already funded a field in Nicaragua and a Ugandan girls soccer team. Up next? A Girls Gotta Run team in Ethiopia – a campaign that’s only live for the next couple of weeks, so be sure to purchase your Activyst bag in time to help them reach their next milestone!
3. Alee & Press
Thanks to my partnership at the Atlanta Wedding Loft, I’ve met some amazing bridal vendors local to the Atlanta area. The great thing about today’s featured stationary vendor, Amanda of Alee & Press, is that she runs a national company from just down the road. Her designs are simple and elegant and they can easily be shipped anywhere in the world! Browse around her website for more beautiful stationery for any occasion!
