St. Regis Punta Mita: Mexico’s Hidden Secret for Luxury Travel

To call Mexico’s Punta Mita area a vacation hotspot would be an understatement. This beach area was off the charts in 2012 for luxury tropical getaways – which is why you should know more about it!

I’m a big fan of the St. Regis brand – haven’t met one that I didn’t immediately fall in love with – and the St. Regis Punta Mita is no exception. Okay, we haven’t actually met in person, but I just know that the day we do…I’ll love it even more. In the meantime, let me send you there to experience this authentic Mexican getaway!

This 120-room property is only 4 years old, so it feels brand new, and it’s situated on 22 acres. The resort’s boutique room size on such a large acreage allows for plenty of room: no one is ever waking up at 7 AM to snag a chair by the pool. There are plenty of lounging options at any of the 3 pools, one of which is adults only, or the gorgeous beach. Not only that, the property’s large size allows for plenty of privacy – you won’t be sunbathing right on top of another couple like you might be at a mega resort in one of Cancun’s mega resorts.

I think it’s so important for a luxury brand to offer a sense of place without sacrificing their brand’s reliable high-end quality. The St. Regis Punta Mita executes this brilliantly with its well-appointed yet genuine accommodations. The rooms are reflective of the surrounding area: gorgeous wooden ceilings, tile floors, a nice Mexican flair to the decor. Not only that, the property was originally built for residential purposes, which it was never used for, so the rooms are extra spacious for vacationers to enjoy. You certainly won’t feel like you’re in a cramped hotel room here!

All of the rooms come with outdoor showers and terraces, but my personal favorite room is the One Bedroom Luxury Suite. These beauties are located right on the beach, so guests can step out their door and enjoy the sun and sand. They also come with a private hot tub and personal plunge pool that’s large enough to swim laps in. It’s a great choice for a family who needs a little more room or honeymooners who want to indulge in the ultimate luxurious and convenient option (besides the Presidential Suite, of course, but if I always chose those as my favorites, you might think I was high maintenance… Which I’m far from. Not.)

Not only do all of the rooms have fabulous features, they all come with butler service. The St. Regis brand is known for their fantastic butler service and Punta Mita sticks true to form with what it has to offer. The butlers are well trained in the art of packing and unpacking, more than happy to help you with garment pressing (the first 2 garments are complimentary), and offer complimentary coffee or tea at anytime. The latter, a beverage service which is served in the room, is a fantastic option in lieue of a wakeup call: have your butler bring your coffee or tea for a nice, easy wakeup. You don’t have anything urgent to wake up for on a beach vacation anyway, right?

After your wakeup call, be sure to hop down to the St. Regis’ fantastic restaurant to indulge in the complimentary breakfast that I’m able to get you when you book through me!

This property is ideal for honeymooners and families alike. It’s large enough to provide an intimate setting for couples – like pool and beach cabanas – but also has plenty of options for families. For example, the St. Regis Punta Mita offers an SPG Kids Pass for only $35-45/day, depending on the season. That pass is your children’s all inclusive package – all of the soft drinks, snacks, whatever that their hearts desire are covered in the up front price! Along with the kids club for children ages 5-12 and plenty of teen activities (like fishing right off the beach, paddleboarding, etc), a perfect spa for Mom and one of the best golf courses in the world within walking distance for Dad, there’s truly something for the whole family.

The Punta Mita area is great year round, but the winter/spring months (November-end of May) offer the most postcard perfect setting for the destination. Be sure to reserve your stay through me and receive that complimentary breakfast mentioned above, as well as an upgrade if available and a $100 spa credit.

    1. Complimentary breakfast, the upgrade and $100 spa GC? Are you still able to offer these perks? I’m also curious about your pricing? Tripadviser offers the St Regis as low as $360 a night. What is your daily quote for 9/16-9/24? Thank you for your help!
