The Perfect Luxury Honeymoon in Hawaii: Kelli & JB’s Testimonial from Oahu and Kauai

In honor of Hawaii week (part two!), here’s a wonderful review for a Hawaii honeymoon that I planned in the fall of 2011.

Thank you so much to Kelli & JB for providing this great feedback on their Hawaiian honeymoon!

Somewhere Over the Rainbow: Kelli & JB’s 8-Night Honeymoon in Hawaii

My husband and I were married October 1, 2011 and vacationed in Hawaii for our magical honeymoon.  Being from Georgia, it was a long flight, but well worth it.  I believe that you should go big or go home for a honeymoon.  We picked Hawaii, with Lindsey’s help, mainly because it is beautiful, warm year around and out of the hurricane zone.  We told Lindsey about ourselves and she suggested activities and accommodations to suit our personalities.  We first traveled to Oahu for 3 days.  We stayed in an ocean view room on Waikiki beach [at the Royal Hawaiian Resort]. Oahu is full of activities and nice restaurants.  We did a one day island tour and toured Pearl Harbor, Dole Plantation, Jurassic Park movie site and all of the beaches. We also hiked diamond hill, which has a panoramic view of Waikiki. Stunning!

Next, we took a short flight to the island of Kauai for the last 4 days [At the St. Regis Princeville].  OMG!  Now, this was Hawaii!  Kauai is the most beautiful and serene place that we have ever seen. We did an 8 mile day hike to Hanakapi’ai falls to see an amazing 300 ft waterfall.  The highlight of the trip was the helicopter ride over the island of Kauai. Waimea canyon and Napali coast are absolutely breathtaking.  Lindsey was great at recommending things to do and see.  She upgraded our rooms to include free breakfast at both islands with a $100 resort credit at each hotel that we used for massages, food and drinks.  She also set up our Jeep rental for Kauai so we could tour the island ourselves and was just a phone call away if we had any problems.  We couldn’t have asked for a better honeymoon. Everyday there was a rainbow that stretched as far as you can see and makes you sing the Hawaiian version of Somewhere over the Rainbow.  By the end of our planning experience with Lindsey, you feel that not only have you gotten a great travel planner, but also a friend.
