While Hong Kong is known as a vibrant economic hub for all of Asia, there is so much more to the island (yes, island! Similar to the way Manhattan is positioned) than meets the eye. Many Asia cruises port here, and I’d highly recommend staying a few days pre or post to enjoy the city, which is famous for food and shopping.
- The Peak
- Walking tour of Central
- Eating well and shopping well!
- Day tour of historic Macau
Imperial Tours’ first romantic suggestion involves a partner hotel that I highly recommend: the Peninsula Hotel. On top of the hotel is a helipad, where you’ll take a private helicopter to a rarely-visited island nearby. Once on the island, you’ll enjoy cocktails on the beach before a local takes you on a personal tour of the island’s temple. Here, you can enjoy an alfresco dinner in the temple gardens before being whisked back to your hotel in a luxury yacht. Talk about arriving and departing in style!
Speaking of style, fans of the movie Breakfast at Tiffany’s can make the title come to life with their very own private breakfast before the store opens.
Hong Kong’s sunset and city lights are well worth seeing, and Imperial Tours will get you the best seat in the house, either on a private vintage tram or one of Hong Kong’s few remaining junk boats. The latter will offer a fantastic vantage point for the Symphony of Lights show.
After attending Imperial Tour’s China Experts program last year, I’m able to plan vacations that extend well beyond couples travel: family getaways, foodie tours, history-centered itineraries, you name it.
