Why do I need a host agency?
For those of you who are new to industry and unsure of what a host is, this is a larger company advisors run their business through, and this is a question that a lot of advisors ask for years, whether they’re just starting or a high producer. We’ve worked to create a program that provides the right amount of support for the right amount of an advisor’s investment regardless of their time in the industry.
What’s the difference between Epperly and other host agencies?
Epperly’s hosting program was built to tackle the three greatest hurdles advisors face today: facilitating a strong support system so our advisors aren’t isolated, providing business mentorship so advisors can achieve their goals, and dismantling the traditional host model. More community. More clarity. Less cages.
Do we have to take on Epperly Travel branding?
No! Epperly’s marketing support and business guidance are perfect for advisors who have their own brands, too.
What are cages?
Cages are what we think happens to an advisor in a traditional host model when you’re on a sliding scale of production. The relationship starts off great as you’re excited to earn toward your next commission split until you reach the top and begin to feel the pressure: high producing agents are stuck on this split in perpetuity. You’re outgrowing that model but your options are limited. And now, you’re in a cage. After a year like this year, you’ve now seen that you take on a large amount of risk as an advisor, but you’ve never gotten to see the full upside of your potential because you’re giving such a large chunk away. That’s why we designed the Upside Commission Structure.
What in the world is the Upside Commission Structure?
Until now, the travel industry has operated largely on two profit models for IC’s: give away a percentage of their sales in perpetuity or commit to a flat fee with little to no support. Our Upside Commission Structure is designed to support advisors and teams throughout their journey. Once you reach a certain commission threshold, you’re no longer on a split – you’re paid at 100% so you get to keep your upside.
What does it look like to build a team at Epperly Travel?
Because it’s how we were built, Epperly is uniquely equipped to help advisors scale their business through teams – meaning the hiring and developing of IC’s under one advisor’s leadership. Epperly provides guidance around your business plan as well as mentorship on training your team.
What kind of community does Epperly Travel have?
This is one of my favorite topics because of how intentional we’ve been at creating a strong culture. It is so easy to feel isolated as an IC – and isolation leads to burnout. At the start of the pandemic, it became clear how many advisors felt like they were on an island. They were having to solve for a global crisis without the help of a team or solid leadership. On the Epperly team, because we already had an established virtual culture, we continue to rely on each other as we navigate our way out of this crisis. Our community is at the core of everything we do, ensuring that our advisors are known, listened to, and supported.
