Brides to be near the Atlanta area:
Mark your calendars for Monday, February 25. Why?
Because you do not want to miss The NotWedding! This fantastic event is a fake wedding to inspire real brides – by the end of it, you feel like you’ve attended one of the best weddings of all time. Great food? Amazing decor? Dance Party? It has all of that and more. I attended as a vendor for the first time last year and absolutely loved the event. Not only can you come see me in the Tunnel of Love (that’s not as risqué of an invite as it sounds, it’s just where the vendor area is), you can enjoy the celebration and walk away with great ideas for your own wedding.
I attended The NotWedding rehearsal dinner last night and met some extraordinary vendors. There’s everything from photography to vintage rentals to wedding decor to someone who will turn your wedding vows into a work of art (I’m a little excited to see that last one, considering my obsession with art with words on it…). Also, there’s great food, which I experienced last night thanks to the wonderful team at Sun in My Belly – if you haven’t been to this ATL restaurant, you need to go. And, if you come to The Not Wedding, you’ll have a chance to try them out!
While I love the fellowship and friends that I’ve made through the event, I really love what The Not Wedding stands for. The founder, Callie, stood up last night to discuss the goals that they have in mind – not only that they promote local businesses and provide brides with a great wedding day, but they encourage strong, solid marriages. The goal of The Not Wedding extends far beyond the wedding day – unlike some mass market bridal shows that focus solely on the aspects of the big day, this show provides you with a community of individuals who are happy to see your marriage thrive and succeed in the long run. I think that the event is truly being blessed by keeping that aspect in mind and it’s something that all vendors should focus on for their brides. So thanks, Not Wedding, for re-inspiring me at last night’s rehearsal dinner!
I will be posting more about some of my favorite vendors over the weeks leading up to the shows (be on the lookout for a soon-to-come Vacations by Lindsey’s Favorite Things blog post!). In the meantime, before you forget, definitely put this on your calendar:
