Virtuoso in Las Vegas – Travel Mart at the Bellagio (Day 2)

In case anyone was wondering, Bellagio’s spa is amazing. I spent most of Sunday morning “testing out the products” before heading to the pool to meet up with the girls. It was the perfect amount of relaxation before the whirlwind to follow. I attended opening ceremony with Dr. Brene Brown, a vulnerability specialist who spoke on the power of relationships and what stands in the way (really great speaker – I’m currently in a Beth Moore Bible study and this topic would fit perfectly) and the opening cocktail reception.

After this, it was cocktail party after cocktail party, including a tweet-up that I helped organize. It’s an odd thing to see people you’ve spoken to via Twitter in person. Do you use their handles or real names? Luckily I’m @lindsey_epperly, so it’s the same thing for me. In honor of the tweet-up, I’ll refer to everyone in this blog by the Twitter handle.

Yesterday (Monday) I attended the Fairmont breakfast, where we each received a free pair of Maui Jims! I love the swag at Travel Mart.

Kim, Me & Nathan rocking the Mauis. These are my favorite people in the entire country of Canada.

I missed out on the Prom Peru breakfast, which I was invited to after receiving the Fairmont invite. Probably should have been there considering at least two of my friends won trips to Peru. One day I’m going to win a free trip; although it might be Travel Mart 2057 considering my luck.

Our 4-minute “speed dating” meetings began bright and early, from 8:30-3:30. I started the morning with such enthusiasm that at least four suppliers turned to me and said, “Is this your first Travel Mart? You just seem so happy.” I’m passionate about this, so it’ll always make me happy, however, the afternoon fatigue is nearly impossible to ward off when we near the end of the day.

Last night was the Destination Dinner and I had the pleasure of sitting at the Tourism New Zealand table with Laura (@LauraAllenTVL). We loved our sweet host, Carolyn (@CarolynPope4), who happened to know our nicknames from French Polynesia (“So you’re Chihuahua and Smellaura?”) – apparently our reputation proceeds us. The night was a blast, with a stop at Baccarat with some of Jonathan’s (@EpsteinTravels) colleagues and ended up in Caramel with my new A&K friends (Dalia and Javier, but I don’t know their handles), as well as Cassie (@TheArtOfTheGetaway) and Beth (@BethVoyage).

Okay, now I’m just name dropping to use Twitter handles. Go follow all of the people mentioned in this blog. You won’t regret it.
